Marianne Vos to ride men's races in coming years?

Could Marianne Vos participate in some men’s races in 2013? Why not — she’s dominated the women’s scene and is still only 24. I know I’d watch the races.

Zach McDonald crushed it today in the U23 National Championships — margin of victory? 2:20. I’d say he’s on another level.

Sadly, it won’t make you go any faster.

Fausto Coppi by Italian artist Claudio Pesci.

These were done in 09’ (I think). Claudio recently illustrated the cover for a charitable calendar seen here.

Wonderful watercolors of Il Campionissimo.

I believe The Badger is about to shove a camera straight up some lucky fan’s ass.
- big jonny

It’s spelled Bernard. So yes, I imagine a camera shoving is imminent.

Jens Voigt Tweet Awesomeness

That big German is a lot less intimidating off the bike and on Twitter.

Internet problems? Presents for the pets? Tropical Islands? Vomiting children? Oh my!

Behold Jens’ Christmas saga (a series of tweets from the 26th of December):

Ok mery christmas to everyone !!Hope Santa was kind and generous with his presents and that have a peaceful and relaxed time. Jens.

Had Internet problems- and holy moly that was exactly like in the “Groundhog day” movie. I call german telecom and they say-our line is ok!

then i got my specialist coming and he says: No signal coming trough, my installation is fine! Ok i call back german telecom. And guess what?

They say friendly but firmly” Our lines or cable is fine!” Ok i am back with my specialist- and guess what he says?! No signal coming trough

Did you folks get the picture? And i did call all this “hotlines” for 4days straight! And -omg- the stupid music i had to listen to !!

So we change cables, routers, modems and did put all this weird and strangelooking codes and id numbers for 4 days straight…

And then finally i started working again- no one knows why it broke down and why it started working again- a mystery never gonna be solved.

But hey- it works again. And christmas was great, the usual stress, shouting and fighting and it all turned out into a great christmas time.

Felt like a million pressis, kids are happy and so are we. Even cat, dog and fishies got pressis! hahaha

Ok, now i am off with kids to “Tropical Island” huge indoor beach and swim ressort. Built in an old zeppelin hangar-its huge!

Ah something to make smile, this morning-and i mean early morning- the diaper of our little one could not hold it anymore and starts to leak

And literally a minute later my next kid starts vomiting on the other side of our bed- holy maccaroni-what a mess at 6am- but we survived it

This video reminds me of two things: madison is cool and I’ll never be that fast.

It has been out for a couple of seasons, but the Trek Sawyer remains one of my favorite new mountain bikes.
A bit of panache and a well thought out spec from an industry giant not usually known for its style.
You can find them for less than $1,500.

Just some steep cobbled hillclimb antics.

I guess that’s one way to bring home the Christmas dinner.

Good enough for 5th place on the day — still not good enough to best the veteran cyclocross mega-man Sven Nys.
And yes, that kit was bright white on the start line.

Remember when one or two guys would ride the barriers in a World Cup? This clip also answers who wins: log or carbon fork.

Continuing with our theme of barrier-related mayhem, here’s Radomir Simunek at the GP Hasselt.

what's your favorite discipline, cross, road or mtb? If you had to choose one type of bike to ride the rest of your life, which one would it be? — Asked by thingsdonechanged3-deactivated2

Discipline? Cyclocross. The dynamism and diversity of the races is unparalleled. Achieving the finesse, smarts and fitness required to be a successful cyclocross racer takes years — a quest that I am only (albeit excitedly) beginning.

Bike? Probably something cyclocross-y. Higher BB, good tire clearance. Fast, stiff, smooth, light. But you know, it’s really not about the bike…
